I was looking through this set of slides that Bob marked as being from 1964. Who is the elderly woman (not Mom-mom) in these pictures? There's one right before these of someone's yard with a sign that says "The Kenworthys", but I don't know if it's connected.

The "elderly woman" is my grandmom, Sarah Ann (Nannie) Wright (Nee: Anderson) on her 92nd birthday. I believe that she lived another five years. She's the one that had only one grandson, ME! She had four sons: one died at birth, one at age six, one in WWI, and Samuel. Only Sam and the two daughters lived to adulthood. Kathleen had no kids. Sam had one daughter. Then there was me! After she was saved she started praying for a "preacher" in the family. Everyone laughed at this silly old lady... especially me! How could even God do anything with that rascal? Ask me if I believe in the power of prayer.
Love,
Gramps (the Rascal)
Grace, if you read this someday, that's your great-great-great-grandmother, born in 1872. If she lived to see your birth, she would have been 136! The people in the top photo, from left to right, are my Uncle Bob, Nannie, Gramps (my grandfather), Mom-mom (my great-grandmother, Gramps's mom), and my dad, your grandfather. Never be afraid to ask the Lord for great things, and don't despair if his plans take longer than you think that they should (Genesis 15). We love you!

Dad says that two of the three boys were Ruby (Reuben) and Pearl. Grace, never underestimate the power of prayer. God uses them to change lives. Your Gramps is a special person. We love you. Poppy and Mimi
